Easter 2025

It’s Easter Sunday and here’s the Good News.

“For God so loved the world

that he gave his one and only Son,

that whoever believes in him

shall not perish but have eternal life.”  John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today is also known as Resurrection Sunday.

So today, along with the Heidelberg Catechism, we ask how does Christ’s resurrection benefit us?

First

by his resurrection
he has overcome death,
so that he might make us share
in the righteousness
he obtained for us by his death.
Second

by his power
we too
are already raised
to a new life.
Third

Christ’s resurrection
is a sure pledge to us
of our blessed resurrection.

Good News indeed.

Today’s Gift

Easter – 2023

Low in the grave Christ lay, Jesus my Savior,

waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!

Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior,

vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!

Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;

he tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!

Up from the grave Christ arose;

with a mighty triumph o’er his foes;

he arose a victor from the dark domain,

and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.

He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

-Robert Lowry

That Changes Everything

“But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking the spices that they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them. The women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen.” Luke 24:1-5

… and that changes everything.

Happy Easter!
