How Does God Do This?

On our way for donuts
Out of the blue
Ben
He wonders “How does God do this?”
Butterflies, hummingbirds, flowers, rain…
They float, they hover, they bloom, it waters…
They delight, they amaze, they beautify, it sustains…
He wonders “How does God do this?
Ben
Out of the blue…
Forgets about donuts …
And in his wondering …
Praises the One who made them.

Comfort For the New Year

A question and an answer…

The Question …

What is your only comfort in life and in death?

The Answer …

That I am not my own, but belong body and soul, in life and in death to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil.
He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.

[Heidelberg Catechism Question and Answer 1]

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

“Look What I Did Today”

Unexpected delight…

When grandkids live half a continent away, it’s a treat to get an unsolicited note.

My middle school age grandson’s simple message was, “Look what I did today.” It was followed by a few dozen photos taken on a day off from school after an overnight ice storm.

As a proud Grampa, I thought I’d share. Here are a few of his shots.
